So technically Mac was supposed to have a 6 month check up, but we are behind. We went in at 7 months to have the 6 month and he was too sick to have the check up. So we waited 2 weeks and brought him back yesterday to have him checked out. His ears and lungs were clear so that was a huge relief. Developementally he is right on track. Dr. P said his everything looked great. Until...He started looking at the growth charts. Mac is measuring 27.75in long (75%) and 19 lb 14 oz (50%). Both of those are great. The kicker comes with his head measurement. It was 18.75in (off the chart). This is apparently a concern. Dr. P told us he wanted to have Mac checked to make sure he just has a big head and doesn't have fluid on the brain. He said that they would try to do an ultrasound through the softspot on top of his head but if that didn't work then they would want to do a CT scan. After talking to my Mom and doing a little research on my own, a CT scan is not going to happen. Period. We are taking him to Childrens tomorrow for the Ultrasound. I know in my heart that there is absolutley nothing wrong with my baby but I am scared to death! Any time you have to take a child in and have them "Checked Out" is scary! If you look up Fluid on the Brain in babies and read about what causes it, the treatments and the results, you would be totally freaked out too!

I took this at the Drs office yesterday....see there is nothing wrong with him! He is precious!!
