Yum Yum!

Last night I picked up Little Caesar's for dinner. Taylor loves pizza, can you tell?

While we chowed on pizza Mac got his first taste of food. We started him on rice cereal. He has been showing an interested in our food and spoons for about 3 days now. He has also been struggling to sleep through the night without getting hungry for a little over a week. So we felt that he was ready.
He did really well! He ate all that cereal that I made for him and didn't spit any of it out. He got the hang of the spoon really quick and was even trying to hold the spoon while he was eating!

Sorry my head is in the way in all of these pictures, but we have not talk to Taylor about giving up her high chair yet and I don't mind doing it this way for a little while.

Dance Pictures

Saturday Taylor had dance pictures at the Corky Bell studio in Alabaster. I was a little concerned about this adventure b/c I was going alone. As you all know, when you put 10 3 year old little girls dressed in ballet shoes and tutus, in a very small, hot room it is bound to be a disaster! We arrived about 10 minutes early and I got Taylor in her costume. We moved into the photo room where the other girls were and the chaos began!

The girls were so excited about being Ballerinas that they were fluttering around on their tippy toes! It seemed as though none of the parents cared what their child was doing! When the time came for the group picture I thought the photographer was going to lose it! He got onto one girl like 5 times and finally he yelled at the parent for not getting involved. The little girl was literally tearing up his props and her mother could careless...she thought it was funny! I was shocked by some of them!

All of that to say, Taylor was awesome! She sat on the bench and watched all that was going on. When it was her turn for individual pics she listened to her teacher and the photographer and followed directions exactly. Group picture? She sat in her spot, hands on hips, legs crossed, and smiling the whole time. She was the only child that the photographer didn't have to fix multiple times! I was EXTREMELY proud!
Here are a few pictures that I took with my phone:

She is the closest to the mirror on the bench:

I can't wait to get my pictures!

Show Us Your Life - Beauty Secrets

Kelly's Show Us Your Life for today is Beauty Secrets.
This one is hard for me. I have never found myself to be beautiful or even remotely average, so I am not sure that anyone will be interested in my routine/secrets.

Hair: (10 to 45 minutes)
I get my hair colored and trimmed 1 to 2 times a year at Salon M Squared. I wear it naturally curly most of the time. On a curly day I wash and condition with Tresemme curly shampoo and condition. I towel dry and put Tresemme curly gel throughout, using my fingers to comb through. I NEVER use a brush or comb on my hair when it is curly. After it has air dried about 50% I spray it down with Tresemme Curl Locking Spray. On the second day I just pin it half up and spray with water. Then spray it down again with Tresemme Curl Locking Spray. I only wash it every other day.
On a Straight day I was my hair with Frizz-Ease Straighting shampoo and condition. I use their straighting serum on towel dried hair. Then I blow dry with a round brush. After dry, I section off my hair and straighten with a flat iron. I spray each section with Sebastian's light hair spray.

Face:
I wash my face 2 times in the shower with Neutrogena Men Invigorating Face Wash. I love that stuff in the shower! My face feels revived! At night I wash twice with Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Cleanser (I use this b/c I got it free at Walgreen's but it is nice).

Make-up: (10min)
I prep my skin with Bare Minerals Prime Time. Then I use Bare Minerals Foundation, Warmth, and Mineral veil. I also use blush and eye shadow, but I just buy what ever brand has the color I want. My 2 favorites are my black powder eyeliner (applied with an eyeliner brush) and my Maybelline Volum' Express Classic Mascara in very black (I have used the same type of mascara for 10 years). I usually only use lip gloss on my lips and it is normally Burt's Bees or Victoria's Secret.
Favorite Tools:
Eyeliner brush:
e.l.f. Professional Eyeliner Brush, 1 ea
Flat Iron: Corioliss
Make-up Brushes:

Matt's Retirement Party

On February 5th we hosted a Surprise Retirement Party for my Uncle! He retired from Wal-Mart after 23 years! We are so excited for him and we hope he enjoys his new lifestyle!
There are a lot more pictures taken with my Mom's camera but I don't have them right now. Here are the ones I took.

Matt was TOTALLY surprised!

Desserts!

The cake made by TH (she also made my wedding cake)

Yes! I took a picture during the prayer! :)

The food: Venison Italian Puffs, Pepperoni Ritz, Chicken Nuggets, Ham and Cheese Pinwheels, Spinach and Artichoke dip, and Venison Roulade. Matt is Hypoglycemic, so we have to be really careful what we put in the food. We worked really hard but were able to create everything in a way that he could eat it! The only thing he couldn't eat was the cake. So we made him special Whole Wheat Oatmeal Craisin cookies! They were AWESOME!

Everyone donated to a Money Tree in lou of gifts. He got over $400 to use towards the Bose sterio that he wanted!

Taylor LOVES Wal-Mart stickers! She does this at the store too! The Manager at the Chelsea Wal-Mart was nice enought to give us a whole roll of stickers to hand out to all the guests by our greeters, Taylor and Sadie, as well as "Low Price" Signs to place around the house!

Congrats Uncle Matt!

Mac at 5 Months

Mac is now FIVE months old!
Mac at 5 Months:

He wears a size 2 diaper, Size 3-6 and 6M clothing, size 6-12m shoes, and he is eating 6-7oz bottles 4 times a day, nursing first thing in the morning and a small night cap before bed. We are still holding off on Formula and basic foods for now. He just doesn't show signs of being ready and he is satisfied with his milk right now.

Mac,
You are a great sleeper! You take a pacy at night along with your Hippo. Life without Hippo would just not be fun!

The second week in January you found your FEET!!! I love this stage! You will do anything to grab them...you even try to reach them when you are strapped into the car seat or sitting in the bumpo. You especially love when you have on a footie pajama with animals on your feet! You are doing better with sitting in the exersaucer, bumpo, bouncy seat and laying on the floor playing. You will last about 10 minutes in those seats and then you want on Mommy's Hip :)

Your teething adventure this month has been awesome! You got your first 2 teeth! The bottom left first and then the bottom right. Just 3 days apart!

Also, You finally decided to roll over! We have been working on giving you more tummy time this month and I guess it paid off! Or maybe we should have gotten Taylor involved in the process a lot sooner! You are already learning so much from her!

You have the most precious personality! Taylor has gotten to the point that she likes to play the music on your exersaucer and show you her dance moves from dance class. She will clap and twirl and you just GRIN! Even when we read "Going on a Bear Hunt" before bed, you are glued to Taylor! You watch her expression and giggle! I love to watch the two of you.

Apparently this month was really busy b/c I don't a whole lot of pictures. I will do better this next month! Here is month 5 in Pictures:

Look at all that personality!

Here is a close up of the picture above!!! Do you see the pearly whites???
