Check! and Check!

We have had a productive couple of days! On Saturday (5/16) we tackled Taylor's room and the nursery!

Before 9:30 AM on Saturday we were able to get My old bed out of the Nursery-to-be and into Taylor's room as her new Big Girl bed! She really likes it! So with this I can check off #43! I am still in search of the perfect bedding to match her room, so for now she is using my old duvet.

Also on Saturday we took Taylor to a Baron's Game...her first (#41)! She loved being there! She was terrified of the mascots if they got closer than 10 feet, but other than that she would yell "Look! Puppy!". Papaw taught her several different umpire signs, which was SUPER cute! She also loved clapping for the Boys on the Field. Fortunately, the Baron's were winning the whole game so there was a lot of Clapping. We ended up leaving after the 6th inning b/c Taylor wanted Ice Cream. Even though we offered to buy the little hat full of ice cream, she said no..."I go McDondalds for Ice Cream." I don't know how that association formed (Morris/Papaw), but it has....so we went.
Here are just a few pictures:

Mother's Day

This is really delayed!--SORRY

Happy Mother's Day to all Mother's Past, Present, and Future!

My Mother's Day was very special! Morris got up early (let me sleep in till 7!!) and made me homemade waffles --my favorite! We went to early service at church which was a blessing as usual! Then we went to my Memaw's house for lunch. My Mom had put together a spread of potato salad, deviled eggs, baked beans, slaw, Miss Myra's BBQ, banana pudding and cupcakes! Visiting with my Memaw and Mama was great! Taylor loved seeing her Memaw and MamaZan! After Lunch we headed to Morris' parents house. We got to visit with them for a few hours, which was really great! Taylor loves playing with her cousin Sarah...they are super cute together!

Unfortunately I was not armed with a camera at the Ford's house but my Mama always has hers with her so here is a picture we took at Memaw's house. It turned out really good of the 4 generations!

Here are 2 of Taylor and Memaw:

I hope you all had a blessed Mother's Day!

Show Us Your Life - Favorite Books/Children's Books

Yesterday at Kelly's Korner it was Show Us Your Life - Favorite Books/Children's Books.

When I was little my Papaw read me a book called Bruce's Loose Tooth. It was all about a goose helping a moose to pull his tooth! There is a piece of string that runs all the way through the book as part of the illistration. I still have my original copy of the book (it is rather old) and can't read it with out a tear or two. Good memories.

In elementary school I read the entire series of The Baby Sitters Little Sister. There are like 70+ books but I really liked them.

In High School I fell in love with Jane Austen's Pride and Predjudice. I have read it a dozen or so times and would like to find time to read it again.

I have to say my favorite book right now is We're Going on a Bear Hunt, when read by my 2 year old Taylor. Now she can't really read but she reads it outloud along with her Daddy. It is the cutest thing in the world. If you don't have this book, get it for your kids.

Check off #64...Finally!

So I am 23 weeks into my pregnancy and I have finally gotten out my Maternity clothes! I have had them in a tub in my room for a long time...since before we got pregnant. However, I realized pretty quickly that most of them are winter clothes.
These are the clothes that I can not use during these Hot summer months.

These are the ones I can:
Unfortunately the majority of what you see here is dresses and skirts...neither of which I really enjoy wearing. Also I have 4 or 5 pairs of capri's shown that can not be worn to work. So for now I will do with what I have and learn to dress like a lady. =)

I do have the best pair of kahki maternity pants that Morris bought me a few weeks ago from Sears. They are slacks that are super cute and comfy and they were on sale for like $3. WooHoo!

Now to go work on the other projects on my list!

It's Official!!!

Today Morris' Boss and close friend announced the Official appointment of Morris to Controller of New Gourmet Deli!!! Morris has worked for the company a little over 3 years and has, in my opinion, been an invaluable asset to the company! I can say that because I worked there for 3 years...2 of which were under Morris.

As I read Tom's e-mail announcing the new position to the whole company (it was forwarded to me by Morris) I literally had tears in my eyes! I am so Proud of Morris! He impresses me every day with the work he does for and with New Gourmet Deli.

WAY TO

!!!!!!

The logo above is a logo and theme that Morris helped to create for the entire New Gourmet Company for 2010!

I love you babe!!!

#s 91, 48 and change of plans #99....

#91: As of May 5th I have made the bed for one whole month. I am still doing it too! I don't know it if is a habit so much as I just really like having it made! It really makes the room look so much nicer! I think secretly Morris really likes it too. One morning I had not made it and he did it for me...so sweet!

#48 I took the time in April to sort and price all of Taylor's old clothes, shoes, pink sippy cups (that she never used), boppy covers, and other baby girl stuff to sell. I put it all in the Neighborhood Garage Sale in Brook Highland. We sold a lot of shoes and sippy cups and few of the clothes. I still have a ton left and plan to put them in the Neighborhood Garage Sale in Chelsea Park on May 22nd. After that I may take them to a consignment shop and/or Kids Market. Either way I am going to sell as much of it as I can. I am giving away the stuff that I didn't think was in selling (perfect) condition to a community in TN that flooded really bad and they lost everything.

I am changing #99. I had originally picked out the Ju Ju Be BeTween diaper bag in Groovy Garden to match Taylor's back pack. However, BuyBuyBaby carries Ju Ju Be and I was surprised to find that I don't want that bag at all. It was much heavier than I thought it would be and dispite all of the cool features I really didn't like the Shoulder strap. The strap was very cushiony but too wide for my should and fell off easily. I would have to wear it across my chest to keep it on and that bag is not designed to be worn that way. So I looked at all the other bags they had there and picked out a new one that I really really like! This one. In person the bag looks like it would be heavy but it's not. It is SOOO light and that was even with all of the brown paper still inside! I love the "purse look", it is $10 cheaper than the other, and I can register for it.

That is all I have done so far! Still working on the Nursery and Taylor's closet. I got them both started but just haven't found the time to finish them.

#3 Check!!!

#3 on my 101 List was to finish Taylor's ISR lessons. ISR is Infant Swim Resource. We finished her classes on Tuesday (4/20/2010). Her last 2 lessons involved us being in the water with her and learning how to interact safely in the water. ISR is not really swimming lessons even though with older children swimming is typically taught. The purpose of ISR is to teach a child how to save themselves incase they fall in the water and to build a childs confidence around water. Mr. Tim (her instructor) taught her how to flip over and float and began to teach her a little swimming, but mainly taught us how to teach her over the summer. Her lessons were supposed to be 6 weeks long however we finished them in 4. We went everyday (M-F) for 10 minutes a day for 4 weeks. Here are some pictures from her 4/2/10 lesson and then the last lesson, which includes Mommy and Daddy.

Mr. Tim was an awesome instructor and Taylor loved him (she had her first crush on him...hehe). She misses him a bunch! Mommy and Daddy miss going to swimming lessons and getting to watch her in the water.

Below I am posting 2 videos that I did on March 26th. I will go ahead and warn you now....I am not good with a video camera.

Show Us Your Life: Kids Names

I recently became a follower of Kelly's Korner. Today she is asking that you Show Us Your Life through your kids names....here is her post http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/2010/05/show-us-your-life-your-kids-or-future.html. I really like this idea b/c Morris and I put a lot of thought into the names we chose and are using for our kids.
Taylor Suzanne

Before Morris and I got married we talked about Children's Names. We both wrote our favorite girl name on a piece of paper and traded. It was shocking to both of us to find that we both wrote down the name Taylor. Morris just loved the name and liked that it was different. I loved the name for the same reasons but also b/c of a dear friend. In high school I met a girl name Taylor. She captured my heart! She is a dear sweet friend that I just adore. I don't think at the time she realized that she was being such an influence. The name Suzanne is my middle name and also my Mom's Name. Morris really liked the idea of passing it down to our daughter. My Mama is an amazing Godly woman and the biggest influence on my life. She has been so supportive of Morris and our life together. Taylor absolutely LOVES her MamaZan!

Morris Wesley IV

It is obvious that this is a family name. My husband is the IIIrd and of course there was never any doubt in either of our minds that our son would be the IVth. Our son is due to be born September 10th of this year. We are praying hard that he will arrive on September 9th. That date is special b/c Morris Wesley Senior was born on September 9th. We think that would be so amazing if they could share birth dates as well as names. Morris' grandfather was extremely special to him. He tells me wonderful stories about him and their time together. He passed away when Morris was in high school, I wish I could have known him. We are so thrilled to pass on this family name!

Before we found out we were having a boy, we had picked a girl name as well. I love the girl name we picked. I will save that to share if we decide to have another child and it is a girl. :)

Now it is your turn to Share Your Life

Check! #84

#84 was to Teach Taylor to say her bedtime prayer instead of Daddy saying it. Last night for the first time Taylor said her very own prayer. Had I not been watching her I would have missed the whole thing. She wispered it so quietly that I had to read her lips to know what she was saying. I did catch that she prayed for Mommy and Daddy, Playdoe, and the park. There were other things but I am not sure what they were. She also said Amen at the end....loud enough to hear. It was precious and of course I cried like any proud Mama would do!
