The Big Show

It has been 9 long months of anticipation!
The Big Show! Starring Taylor and friends

On Saturday (5/21) We arrived at the BJCC at 3:30pm, the show was to start at 4:29pm, only to find that the 1:01 show was running long. I took Taylor back to the dressing room around 4:00 and changed her.
Her costume was very fragile so I wanted to wait till the last minute to ensure it didn't get ripped before the show. There was also a dreadful flower for her hair. I had no idea what to do with it so I ripped it off the clip and went to work on it. I finally was able to get Taylor's hair in a side ponny tail and used 4 bobby pins to pin that flower down. (I just threw the clip away)

After getting her dressed, I had a surprise for Taylor. I asked her if she wanted to wear makeup for her dance. She lit up like a christmas tree! I dabbed a little blush on her cheeks and some pink diamonds lip gloss on her lips. She beamed!

We were able to link up with Gracie (one of Taylor's many BFFs).

Aren't they precious!!!

It seems like we were in the dressing room forever!

Finally we were called to Back Stage

Ms. Laura, her dance teacher. Taylor loves her!!

The show began and this is the only picture I took! I wanted to watch her with out the lens between us!

I was in tears by the time it was over! I am so proud of her! She did her absolute best and was awesome! (I hope to figure out how to upload the video from our camera and put it on here)

I picked Taylor up back stage and we waited in the lobby for Daddy! She was so surprised when he handed her flowers!

While we waited for the rest of the family to come out we took pictures and Taylor danced.

MamaZan was the first one out and brought more flowers! Taylor was very excited!

The best we could do on a family photo

Taylor was told she could choose where we all went to dinner, she chose Mexicalli. She wanted to chip and dip!

The waiter brought out Flan  for Taylor and the big hat...she wouldn't have anything to do with it! LOL!

Several of us ended up with hat on...some not by choice!

Mac thought the hat was pretty funny....

Until Alex tried to put it on him.... He was not a fan!

Recital day was exciting, awesome and extremely exhausting!

We are still working on getting the video off of the little tape and onto the computer. If you know how to do this contact me please!

Rehearsal for the Big Show

Last night was rehearsal for Taylor's first Dance Recital at the BJCC Concert Hall!!
When we found out the recital was going to be at the BJCC I just couldn't imagine little Taylor on that BIG stage! We arrived around 4:30 and signed in. Her group is more than half way through the program so we waited in the auditorium and watch some of the other girls.WE ran into Gracie and were able to sit with her while we waited. Taylor was mesmerized by the dancers and the lights!!

She, however, was not a fan of the lights going out and the big black curtain coming down.

The girls new several of the songs and dances that went with them and were standing in the aisle putting on a show.

10 songs before ours, we went back stage to join up with Taylor's group. The girls were able to color for a little bit.

after about 5 minutes one of the teachers called Taylor's group. She put them in a line and told them to sit "criss cross apple sauce" on the floor.
Luckily they all knew what she was talking about b/c I had no idea!

Gracie was at the front and Taylor was at the back. Gracie made sure she knew where Taylor was! Too Cute

After having watched a few other small groups it appeared that they put the good girls in the middle and the ones that were not quite as good on the outside.

I had hoped Taylor would not be at the back of the line (on the outside). She had never showed us any of her dance so we were not sure how she would at all.

The girls were then instructed to hold hands and follow the teacher to the back stage area. I followed them just so I would know what to do on recital night. And to get a few pictures.

Ms. Laura (pictured in the green shirt) instructed that the parents could go to the audience and get ready to watch. So I ran back out and sat with Morris. While we waited I showed him some of the pictures I had taken back stage. He mentioned to me that Taylor was on the outside and that he had hoped she wouldn't be. We both were not expecting much from this, but were expecting it to be fun/funny!

The curtains opened.... and my heart raced...I was a nervous wreck for her...

WHAT!!!???!!!

DEAD CENTER!!! (pink skirt)

Taylor was one of few that actually did the dance!

Have you ever been so proud you just cried??? That was me!

After they exited the stage she ran to Ms. Laura and said "Can I do it again??" I love it!
I think I told her 100 times how proud I was of her!
We can not wait for Recital Night!
