On my day off...
I started my day off-Tuesday-with a Test. Yes! You heard me right. On my day off I had to go take a test for School.
Afterwards I ran a few errands and then headed home to work on this:
I made this diaper cake for my mom. She need one for a baby shower they were having at work.
The nursery colors were sage, light blue, and navy.
Sorry the pictures are after the packaging was complete! I forgot to take pictures before I bagged it.
I know it seems like I worked the whole day, but I had fun making this cake. Actually, I always have fun making diaper cakes!
After a few loads of laundry and a quick pick up, I headed off to the gardens for Mac's 6 month pictures.
Here is a sneak preview....My mom took this picture.
I can't wait to see the pictures Lauren got! I know they will be awesome!
I love having a day off!
Yum and Fun
Saturday Morning Taylor got up with the sun and of course decided Daddy needed to join her. Since he was up anyway, He made Cinnamon Rolls. YUM!!!
OH MY!!!
Can you really eat just one???
Mac just hung out while we were cooking. Doesn't he just make you smile!?
Because our Doorways are so tall....
and the jumper only extends so far....
He jumps on a plastic tub. It works....So why not!
The afternoon was filled with A.J.'s 2nd birthday!
We headed over the Cahaba Lily Park to eat, visit and let the kids go wild at the park! Other than about 20 minutes of total down pour towards the end, it was a beautiful day!
Taylor loves to swing!
Don't you love Pig Tails!

Finances and #95
Yesterday, while blog stalking, a fellow blogger posted about her finances and the program she uses to manage them. She uses:
I decided to look it up and see if this would fit my needs! Boy did it! I have been wanting to purchase a software to keep up with all of my financial junk (#95), but never was willing to spend the money! So Mint is the best of both worlds! IT IS FREE!
Mint allows you quick access to all of your account balances: checking, savings, credit cards, mortgage, student loans, even investments/retirement! You can create a budget and track your spending, or set goals to become debt free. We are doing both!
My favorite feature: the Iphone APP! Who doesn't love a good APP!!!
Check it out....What do you think?

And then there were FOUR!
Do you remember that 4th tooth I mentioned on Monday???
Despite it's subtle entrance, it is definitely here! I found it tonight but Morris said it came in yesterday!
I love getting new teeth! (well you know what I mean....my babies getting new teeth!)

New Car Seat Guidelines
Monday the AAP released a new set of Car Seat Guidelines and they are Huge changes!
The biggest is that the Rear-Facing recommendations have been changed. It was 1 year AND 20 pounds. Now AAP is recommending that you keep your child rear facing until 2 year old, or until they reach the maximum height and weight for the seat as noted in the manual.
Also the AAP has made new booster recommendations. Children should ride in a high back booster until at least 4 feet, 9 inches AND 8-12 years old! Best practice is to wait until they are 80 to 100 pounds.
Obviously, we want was is best for our children and the way we know what is best in these types of cases is to follow guidelines. However, I think it is a pretty drastic change. Yes, I will follow the rules, but it will be hard! Mac has almost out grown, in length, the infant carrier he is in now. I have not looked into our other car seat but from what i remember it goes up to 100lbs in the booster position. We never used it in the RF position with Taylor so I am not sure what the weight and length are for that. Fortunately, Taylor is 3 so we don't have to worry about the front or rear delima but I have a feeling she will be in a booster until she is 15 b/c she is quite petite.

Venison and Pepperoni Calzone
Last week I made a Venison and Pepperoni Calzone
I love how it turned out!
This is seriously the easiest dinner I have made in a LONG time! It only took about 5 minutes to prep and 25 to cook! It makes enough for 4-5 people!
1 can Pillsbury Refrigerated Pizza Dough
1 lb Venison
1 pkg pepperonis
2 cups shredded cheese (your choice)
grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp butter
Preheat oven to 375. Brown and drain Venison. Spray a rectangular baking sheet with Pam, and then roll out pizza dough thin and flat. Make layers of cheese, sausage and pepperoni on one half of dough, until desired amount. Fold the other half of the dough on top of the meat and cheese, and roll edges to look like a pizza crust. Melt the butter and brush over the top and then sprinkle Parmesan cheese over it. Cook at 375 for 25 mins or until top is golden brown.
Enjoy!

Correction
I sat yesterday at lunch with my sister-in-law and told her confidently "We have just 2 bottom teeth right now". I stand corrected this morning....
Make that 3 bottom teeth!! and another one very close!
Mac is such a good teething baby...we didn't even know he got it! I found it as he was laughing during breakfast instead of eating his breakfast! He knew he had something to show off!

I Made It....
While feeding Mac breakfast this morning, Taylor came in the kitchen and said 3 little words "I made it!"
"WHAT???" She said it again with a huge smile on her face! I ripped off her pull-up and checked the moisture indicators on the front and then checked the inside (mainly b/c I couldn't believe it)! It was DRY!!! We high fived, hugged and did a little dance that made Mac laugh and then took off to tell Daddy! She was so proud of herself! I gave her a big girl sticker for making it through the night without getting her pullup wet! She has been talking about wearing big girl panties to bed for a long time now. She wears them at nap time but hasn't made it though the night until last night! She said "I got up and went potty and waked Daddy up!"
I can't believe how big she has gotten! We are just so proud of her!
Who knew 5 blue stars on a pull-up could mean so much!?

Anniston
The past couple of weeks I have been receiving hand written letters from my cousin Isaac. He has been in OCS at Ft. McClellan. So on Friday we went to Anniston for his Graduation and Pinning. It was so good to see him! It has been almost 10 years since the last time I saw him. He is from my dad's side of the family and they all live in California!
The graduation was in this tiny chapel on base and there were more people than chairs. The guest speaker, who was to give a motivational speech, was not very motivational at all! But the rest of it was good.
After the graduation the guys from California gathered under a tree out in the field so that they could be pinned by the state of California. Luckily it was a gorgeous day!
Dad Punched him! LOL! Apparently that is what happened to my dad when he was pinned.
Then he had to put the pins in his Hat...it took forever b/c they go on a seem which was not easy to poke through.
While we were waiting for the others to finish up, Taylor got bored. So she played in the dirt! That's my girl!
Family Picture
Our soldier
Isaac had to fix his hat..
While He went to gather his bags from his room, hung out at the bleachers next to the Mess Hall.
Mac fell sound asleep.
This is where they have to do pull ups before they go in to eat. Taylor pretended like she was flying.
Finally Isaac showed back up...with lots of heavy stuff!
Dad and Taylor went for a tour of the place...
Then it was time for Isaac to leave. We waited with him until he got on the bus.
That is him hanging out the window.
It was great seeing Isaac and for Morris to finally meet him! I just hope we see him before another 10 years go by!
