Mistake

So I thought Tuesday was a huge day for Taylor...going to school in big girl panites and doing really well! Well, I made a BIG mistake! I had NO idea that she would turn around on the very next day and not only go to school in big girl panties, but also come home in the same ones! That is right! She made it the whole day with no accidents...including nap time! She amazes me everyday! We of course were so proud of her that we took her to McDonalds to play and have ice cream.

HUGE DAY!

Today is a huge day b/c we sent Taylor to school in Big Girl Panties. Not diapers, Not pull-ups but REAL panties!  She made it the 35 minutes to school with no accidents! That is a huge accomplishment right there. She didn't have any accidents all morning! It wasn't until nap time that she had an accident. They put her back in panties and she had NO more accidents for the rest of the day!!!! We are going to continue to send her panties! I AM SO PROUD!!!

Taylor has done so well with potty training. I don't have the vacation days to take off a week to do a boot camp so we have done our best to boot camp it on weekends. We just finished our 3rd weekend and are now into our 3rd week. She has gone several days at School without any accidents (accept at Nap time) and most of the time at home is accident free. Her usual accidents involve poop, which is really not fun to clean up. Friday (6/18) was her first real poop in the potty and of course we made a huge deal out of it! I think she liked the attention so it has motivated her to try to go in the potty instead of in her panties.

I would like to thank Katie for her support and information that she sent about potty training. I used many of the tips from that to help me get focused and get the ball rolling. Thanks girl!

Check! Check!

I finally got to meet my friend Taylor's Twin boys! #25 They are 2 months old now and doing great! I met some friends over at Taylor's house Thursday night for a visit and had a really good time. Harrison and Jack Henry are so precious! I can't wait to get my hands on them again!

Taylor has mastered the art of multitasking! :)

Also, I finally finished Taylor's closet. I got it cleaned out and organized. #70

The Closet Before:

Here it is now:

Yes those are all 24 month/2T dresses. Also there are jackets for this coming winter in there. The red envelope box is clothes for sizes 3T to 4T. The toys are being saved for a rainy day. Sometimes you just need to pull down something new. I try to rotate them out.

Show Us Your Life: Proposals

Over at Kelly's Korner she is doing Show Us Your Life: Proposal week. I don't participate in these very often but since I love our proposal story I thought I would share. This is a LONG story...but if you stick with it...you will enjoy it!

Our proposal store actually starts in the Summer of 2004. Morris and I had been talking for a while about getting married but we were both in school and working low paying part time jobs, so he had made it clear that it would not be that year. I totally understood. However, My birthday is October 6th and that year he took me out for a night on the town. He took me to Cheesecake Factory for dinner...WAY more expensive than I expect so I just knew this was about more than my birthday. The Dinner came and went and NO RING! We went to a movie after and still nothing. I never said anything but I was totally bummed. I told myself that night as I went to bed that I was never going to do that to myself again. I wasn't going to worry about trying to figure it out. I wanted to be surprised anyway. So I stopped expecting it...I knew it was coming one day and I was good with that.

The week of November 22nd we were talking about how we had not been to a movie in a while and wanted to go. We planned to go on the 22nd and used the excuse that it was our 23 month Anniversary. :) Silly? yes! Fun? YES! So we planned to go Monday the 22nd to grab a quick dinner and early movie. Well, Morris stayed up late Sunday night and was dragging on Monday. We had early classes and then work and he called to tell me he needed a nap. That we was going to go home between work and the date and sleep for a few hours and that we could go on our date a little later than planned. I was honestly very angry. He left all of that on my voicemail and I couldn't get him to answer his phone b/c he sleeps through a freight train! He would rather sleep than go on our date!? When I got home from work around 5:00 there was rose petals on the floor in my room and a rose with a note that said I'm Sorry and to dress up b/c he was going to take me to a nice dinner to make up for taking a nap. My mom told me that he had come by and done that before he went home for his nap. I was still ticked but the roses helped. :) He came to get me around 6:30 and he was even wearing a Blazer. He told me were going to Ruth's Cris. I was totally pumped, I had never been before! He told me he had already checked the movie times and that we could still make the movie after dinner...it would just be the next showing. Ruth's Cris was AMAZING! It was far more than I could imagine and we even got a free dessert b/c the waitress found out it was our 23 month anniversary and she thought it was cute that we were there! After we were headed to the theater and I asked Morris if we had time to stop at our spot and look at the city? We were going to be passing it anyway and we had like an hour before the next movie. So we went. Little did I know how much Morris had planned out every move based on what he knew of me. It had rained that day so the ground and benches were wet...He was prepared with towels to dry them off. *I am honestly still CLUELESS* We sit for a few minutes and he pulls a plain white envelope from his jacket pocket and says "I got you something...don't be mad". I was mad b/c we had agreed not to do gifts or cards b/c we were doing the date....so I didn't have anything for him (the real reason I was mad). I opened it and found a small Bison Charm for my charm bracelet. It represented our time at Harding University. He then continued to pull plain white envelopes (10 in all) from his pocket, each with a charm to represent a time in our relationship. The last envelope I opened was a small charm that looked like a diamond ring. I looked at it and laughed and said it's a little early for this right? I looked up and he was on one knee with small box. I totally freaked out! I started crying and he said all of these wonderful sweet things that I couldn't hear and he asked me to marry him. Of Course I said YES and he put the ring on my finger! We hugged and while hugging he said...I hope you don't mind but we aren't going to a movie tonight. I thought we would go tell our parents and friends our news! I was totally pumped and so glad that he suggested that!

I had a lot of questions for him the next day....He didn't go home and take a nap. That was just part of the plan. He spent the afternoon looking for the last few charms he needed and getting reservations for dinner. He already had my ring the night of my birthday...but wanted to give me another special night to celebrate. My mom knew what was coming b/c of the roses and his mom was involved in helping him plan the night. And Lastly: How was he able to afford the AMAZING ring so quickly. Well one of Morris' part time jobs was to paint the Jewelry store that I worked at. The Manager gave him the 12 diamond band for my ring as payment. Then the Manager also helped to get the center round diamond for him at an amazing price. He bought an entire antique with lots of diamond and took the center stone from it and put into my ring! I LOVE my ring! It fits my personality perfectly and it was literally bought with Morris's sweat and hard work!

15 Months Later:

After we got married in March of 2006, we graduated from College together in May of 2007, built a house and moved in August 2007 and then In November of 2007 Our lives changed forever!
Taylor Suzanne joined our family and totally rocked our world!

2 and half years have past and we are expecting our Little Morris Wesley IV in September.

God has truly blessed us! We are so thankful for his never ending faithfulness!

Checking off #57

#57 on my list was to read a book the whole way through. This is something I don't do a lot of. I wish I read more b/c typically I love the books I read. This time is no different. I just finished reading I Will Carry You by Angie Smith. Angie lives in Nashville TN and is the wife of Todd Smith from the Christian Band Selah. I discovered her book through reading her blog. I highly recommend this book to anyone! It is only 153 pages and is easy to read, However, it is extremely hard to read! I know that sounds weird but it is the truth. I could have flown through this book but my emotions made me read it slowly. Also, the Theology presented is very Simple yet Deep!

I really loved this book and I hope you will read it too and tell me what you think.

Love...

Morris and Taylor came in yesterday bearing gifts. Taylor ran in with a bunch of beautiful white flowers. She handed them to me and then ran back to her daddy and came back with another bunch of beautiful pink roses! Taylor picked out the white flowers and Morris picked out the pink roses. I love them! They brightened my day and are continually making me smile. I thought I would share some of my joy with all of you.

#17 Check!!

In 2008 I bought Adobe Photoshop CS3 and the tutorial package that teaches you how to use it. Well it has been almost 2 years and I still have not sat down to try and figure it out. Well, last night while I as waiting for the fam to get home and the chicken to thaw, I started playing. I decided I would start by going through Amanda's Photoshop tutorials and learn the basics. Using her tutorial, I took this picture:

and did some tweaking. I always knew the picture was a little more fuzzy than I like, but I had no idea how clear it could get. Also, It was too dark. When the picture was printed my skin literally looked grey. I have it printed in an 11x14 but never hung it b/c I didn't like it. Now I need to get this version printed:

I then created the Black and White Version....

And the Seventies version! I love this one! It reminds me of pictures I have seen from my Mom's wedding.

So with that, I have decided to check off #17 which was to learn how to use Photoshop CS3. I have learned enough doing these to do the basics to pictures. Photoshop will be a continuous learning experience for me but at least now I know enough to get started using the program.

#62 check!

Saturday June 5th Morris Hosted a Tool Party for his friend John Mark at our house. We are so very excited about John Marks engagement and wedding that is coming quickly! John Mark has been a good friend of Morris' for a LONG time and I am so glad that they have each other! Jamie has been a great addition and we just adore her! They make a really cute, sweet couple! Congrats John Mark and Jamie!

I was not present for Most of the Party but Morris had a great time and it seemed like all the guys did. This is the only picture that exists. It was taken around 9:30 and this is the group of guys that remained at this time...they played until aroun 11. It was fun watching them...they are all so funny, but you get them together and they are crazy!

Memorial Day Weekend

Every year Morris and I go to Tennessee for Memorial Weekend. We usually leave some time on Thursday and come back on Tuesday. This year we left late Thursday and came back late Monday. We drive up to my Aunt Sharon and Uncle Matt's Lodge with my Parents. This is our 7th Memorial Day Weekend to spend up there but our 8th time to go with this group. We went twice one year (Memorial Day and New Years). The first year that we went Morris and I were just dating, the 2nd year we were engaged, 3rd year married, 4th year preggo, 5th year with a 6 month old, 6th year with a 1.5year old and 7th year with a 2.5 year old and preggo! Crazy!! I can't believe how long we have been doing this tradition ...the time has really flown by!

We absolutely love going and have the best time with my parents and Aunt and Uncle. This year was the shortest of the 7 years but it was great! Taylor really changes everything! We had been talking to her about the trip all week and she was pretty pumped about it. The minute we got in the car she started clapping and laughing and saying "We're going on Bacation (Vacation)" and She couldn't wait to have Uncle Matt show her the mountains! For the first 30-45 minutes of the trip she sang songs, clapped and yelled ROLL TIDE! It was hilarious! She finally gave in and slept the rest of the way. When we got there she perked up and was running all around the lodge laughing and clapping. It was really fun to watch even though it was 3 in the morning!!

Friday We took our time getting up and getting ready. We went to lunch at The Chop House around 1:00 and then to the Chocolate Monkey! OH MY! I just can't even describe how wonderful the caramel apples are! Then we walked over the Bass Pro Shop so Taylor could see the fish and animals. We decided to try to make it to the flea market before they closed at 5 so we ran over there only to find that b/c of the threat of rain many of the vendors did not come out and the rest were closing up around 4. So we went back to BPS. On this trip Taylor got to pet and hold a Real Bunny! It was the prettiest bunny I had ever seen!

Saturday the boys got up and went to Cades Cove and the girls took their time waking up and getting ready. We left the house around 11:00 and went to Pigeon Forge for the Outlets. We ate lunch at KTs and then shopped until 3:30. Then we headed over to A&W for some Ice Cream and Root Beer. We met back up with the boys at the lodge and after they cleaned up we went to Captain's Galley for dinner (this is always a must for us)! That evening we lounged on the couch with Ice Cream and the movie Fireproof.

Sunday we got up and had breakfast at 9:30. Morris made his homemade waffles and Mom made eggs and sausage! It was awesome! Afterwards we has a bible study, which was really good! Then we all took a nap! We left the lodge and got to Apple Wood Farms around 3:45 to catch the tail end of the lunch menu! We have to go here every trip too! Must have Apple Fritters! We walked through the shops and then headed to downtown Gatlinburg to walk the strip.

The strip is always fun and Morris found a way to make us laugh through the rain! When you don't have an umbrella use a popcorn bucket! Don't you just love him!

Monday we slept in as long as we could, but then got up to pack. Taylor got her first goose egg before we left. We had BBQ sandwiches before loading the car and hitting the road around 3. Taylor slept the first 2.5 hours and then we had to stop at McDonald's to let her stretch her legs. She was a major trooper the entire trip!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!
