AJ Update #4
WOW!!! AJ is one tough little guy!!! We just got to go back from getting to see him! He looks SOOO good!!! They said they are going to keep his sternum open for the next few days to let the swelling go down. The nurse, Nicole, said he is doing very well. He looks very peaceful!
Please continue to pray for the comfort to Andrew and Katie. It is very hard to see my nephew like that....you can only imagine what it is like for them to see their sweet baby son in that tiny bed.

AJ Update #3
The Surgery was a little more complicated than the Dr. Expected but not too difficult that a little more time couldn't help. The Dr. said that the pulmonary and aorta valves are supposed to be mirror images of each but for some reason they are rotated from each other. So he had to do a little extra stuff to work on that. The Dr. said that many many (60s or 70s) years down the road he MIGHT have to have another procedure done for possible heart problems but it is nothing to worry about now. They said that the next 24 to 48 hours are very crucial and they will monitor him very closely. The are going to let everyone go back and see him in about 30 to 45 minutes. Very exciting!
Katie received her March of Dimes Necklace for AJ. These are really cool! His name is on it and each bead stands for something different that AJ has experienced. It is a very special thing they did for her!

Taylor Update
We took Taylor for her 15 month check up today...she is technically already 16 months old. She is developing very well...the Dr was very pleased. She weighs 21lb 13oz (25%), she is 31 inches long (25%) and has a head that is 18.75 inchs big! Her head is huge (50%). She did not like the nurse who measured her head and she didn't like the Dr looking at her ears and mouth. She finally smiled at him when he left. She screamed like crazy when she got her 2 shots but got over it with in seconds! Her oversized Mickey Mouse helped comfort her. We are so proud! She is a tough cookie!

Update on AJ
About an hour after my last AJ post Morris received a phone call informing us that AJ had been put on a ventilator. When we got to the hospital they were prepping AJ to be transported to UAB. With in a few hours UAB discovered He had transposition of the Great Arteries. They immediately did a balloon procedure to help his heart pump correctly. A few days later they were able to take him off the ventilator and he was doing VERY well! He looks wonderful! His Open Heart Surgery was scheduled at 7:30 on 4/1/09 (today). As of 11:33 we are waiting for a progress report. I will post again when we know more.
While we wait:
Lord, We thank you so much for your faithfulness this past week! You are so awesome! You have carried AJ and given him amazing strength! He is so beautifully made! We know you are with him now, holding him, loving him and guiding the Doctor's hands. Please continue to surround Andrew and Katie with the love and support they need to get through this time. Give us eyes Lord so that we can see your hands, your love and your face. In Him!
